What is Pencak Silat Anak Harimau

Pencak Silat is an ancient martial art with its main areas in south east asia around Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapur and Brunei. Pencak Silat designates a multitude of styles, which can differ from each other vastly, depending on the country, region and people where it originates. Common among all are smooth movements, dance-like elements, but also combat application as self defence. Pencak Silat nowadays comprises schools continuing the traditional roots of Silek Tuo, as well as modern styles, which are organized globally and are focussed on competetive and sportive elements.

Anak Harimau is a style combining traditional Silek Minang of Western Sumatra with modern Pencak Silat elements. „Anak Harimau“ means „young tiger“ or „tiger cubs“. Anak Harimau uses the four typical elements of Silat. Ethical behaviour and respect are necessary to train Pencak Silat Anak Harimau. Training starts with basic movements and techniques, punches and kicks, defensive moves and levers. Training should be fun, healthy and also serve as a means for self improvement.
