Indonesia meets Ladendorf

On June, 26th 2010 Ladendorf saw a summerfestival of global cultural exchange under the motto “Indonesia meets Ladendorf”. The presenting participants of the festival were the Gamelan orchestra of the indonesian embassy, the brass band of Ladendorf, the folk dance group of Mistelbach, an indonesian dance group, Anak Harimau Ladendorf and others.

Pencak Silat Anak Harimau was participating in an event presenting Indonesian culture to pupils of a Viennese school on Feb, 18th and 25th. The event was organised by the Indonesian embassy in Vienna. Apart from Indonesian dance and music now also Indonesian martial art was taught to the children. The kids were soon very enthusiastic about the movements.

5th pencak silat festival

On Feb. 13th Anak Harimau and Aliran Bersatu invited to the meanwhile traditional fifth Austrian pencak silat festival. Together with Seni Gayung Fatani and Harimurtia total of four groups participated in the festival which bore the motto “tradition”. In four workshop sessions the students trained the specifics of each style. As a final a seni competition with nine participating groups was held and the styles Anak Harimau, Harimau Singgalang, Seni Gayung Fatani and Naga Silat were demonstrated. Winner of the competition was Michael Schönauer from Anak Harimau Ladendorf with a senjata presentation with a clurit.

Charity event for earthquake victims

On Nov, 22nd 2009 Pencak Silat Anak Harimau invited to a charity event into the community center of Ladendorf. The money collected during the event “Ladendorf hilft Padang” goes directly to the victims of the terrible earthquake in Sumatra. Presentations of Pencak Silat Anak Harimau, the Indonesian dance group Gema Puspa Nusantara, as well as other martial art and music groups made a huge success. The cultural attaché of the Indonesian embassy spoke in a welcome speech.

Training in Indonesia 2009

In June and July 2009 six students of Pencak Silat Anak Harimau organized several weeks of training in Indonesia at the sasaran of the masters Edwel Yusri Datuk Rajo Gampo Alam in Jakarta and Pak Haji Syofian in Bukittinggi in the styles Silek Harimau Minangkabau, Satria Muda Indonesia, Silek Buayo and others. Many thanks to both teachers for their generosity, friendliness and the intensive training.

Wedding presentation in “Hawai”

Pencak Silat Anak Harimau was doing a presentation at the wedding of Andrea and Martin in the garden of the restaurant “Hawai” in 1140 Vienna. Not only the wedding guests were excited to see Silat, but also many regular guests of the location.

14th Pencak Silat Anak Harimau Seminar

The 14th weekend seminar of Pencak Silat took place at the meanwhile traditional venue – the seminar hotel “Flackl-Wirt” in Reichenau an der Rax. Students from Vienna and Lower Austria did an intensive training session for 3 days.

Austrian Pencak Silat Festival 2009

On Jan, 24th Anak Harimau Ladendorf invited to the 4th Austrian Pencak Silat Festival. Many participants came, depite the bad weather for this special cooperative meeting of the Austiran Pencak Silat Groups. There were five trainings by four schools. In totel members from seven Austrian groups participated.

Topics were

Tongkat (short stick) Basic techniques
Tongkat with locking techniques
Golok and Double Golok
Ground defence against a standing opponent

The training was finished with a course in massage techniques. Most participants also came to an informal exchange afterwards. Many thanks to all for the successfull event.

“PSVÖ”-Day 2008

On Monday, December 8th 2008 a training with other Austrian Pencak Silat groups took place. Invitation was open to all groups and schools in Austria. Main focus of the training was competition and jurus tunggal.
